Getting to Le Petit Caletre

Getting here
The French are experts in diversions (in French the word is déviation). If you are diverted it is advisable to follow the yellow signs. If the yellow sign has a large truck on it ignore it and continue.

On French motorways the signing is excellent once you understand the system.  If your destination is signed in the middle of the duel carriageway, keep going.  If it is on the right you will be exiting at the next exit.

  
 

When going round ring roads, villages, towns etc.  unless your destination is shown follow signs AUTRES DIRECTIONS or TOUTES DIRECTIONS until you see your destination sign.

Beware of French drivers on roundabouts.  They don’t always signal and they don’t always seem sure how to handle them.  Some still give way to the right.

DON'T FORGET TO DRIVE ON THE RIGHT

From the Port follow the signs for BOULOGNE and ABBEVILLE.
E402/A16

At ABBEVILLE take the signs for ROUEN/LE HAVRE
E402/A28

Before you reach ROUEN, the motorway splits, follow signs for LE HAVRE
A29

Go over the Bridge (small toll to pay) and head for CAEN
E44

From here head for CAEN
A13

Take the E401/N175/A84 round CAEN and then head for AVRANCHES

Follow the signs for RENNES

On the Rocade at Rennes (this is a very busy road) follow the signs for NANTES (N137).

Leave the N137 onto the D46 at sign for GUEMENE-PENFAO.
At junction on top of the road bridge turn right following sign for GUEMENE-PENFAO.

In PIERRIC at the junction go left onto the D3 towards GUEMENE-PENFAO

At T Junction turn right onto D775 to GUEMENE-PENFAO.

At roundabout in GUEMENE-PENFAO turn left.
Go over the River Don and take first right onto the D3 towards PLESSE.

Just after the 5th road on the right (about 3 miles) pull into Le Petit Caletre.

 


DON'T FORGET TO DRIVE ON THE RIGHT

From the Port follow the signs for RENNES.

On the Rocade at Rennes (this is a very busy road) follow the signs for NANTES (N137).

Leave the N137 onto the D46 at sign for GUEMENE-PENFAO.
At junction on top of the road bridge turn right following sign for GUEMENE PENFAO.

In PIERRIC at the junction go left onto the D3 towards GUEMENE PENFAO.

At T Junction turn right onto D775 to GUEMENE-PENFAO.

At roundabout in GUEMENE PENFAO turn left (3rd exit). 
Go over the River Don and take first right onto the D3 towards PLESSE.

Just after the 5th road on the right (about 3 miles) pull into Le Petit Calétré.


Route from Nantes Airport

DON'T FORGET TO DRIVE ON THE RIGHT

Depart from the Airport and pick up the Nantes Peripherique heading towards St Nazaire/Vannes.

Continue following signs for Vannes, this puts you onto the N165.

Just after the Savenay turn off (approx 45 minutes from airport) take the sign for the Plessé (D3).  It can be confusing because of roadworks but Plessé is well signed here.

Follow D3 to Plessé (about 17 Kms).

In the middle of Plessé there is an offset crossroads (be careful here, give way to the right). 
Go straight over following the signs for Guémené-Penfao. Approximately 5 kms out of Plessé, Le Petit Caletre is on your left.
